Hey photographers!
You have questions & we have answers

CAN I SHOOT AT THE DREAMER’S LOFT? The short answer is: Yes! Absolutely! The long answer will shed light on what kind of photography is allowed and when and how you can shoot.

  • During the Week (8a-6p):

    • We allow β€œnon-disruptive” photography throughout the first and second floor. You and anyone in your party just needs a day-pass! Purchase day passes here

    • 1st Floor Rental: We rent the first floor for exclusive photo sessions. This session is limited to the first floor. You can spread out, bring your equipment, props, etc. When renting the first floor, you do not need day passes for those in your party. This is great for head shots, editorials, or even family sessions! It’s $50/30minutes. You can add on our premium, hand-painted canvas backdrops as well for a pro-rated rental rate! MORE INFO HERE ON RESERVING THE FIRST FLOOR

    • Content Creation Day (the exception to the rule!) - On Content Creation Days you can spread your wings! Consider this your opportunity to break all the rules. Often we have special installs up on these days, so do not miss them! You and anyone in your party will need a day pass. Bring props, equipment, models, clothes, etc! Just be mindful of others using the space. You cannot set-up shop the entire day in one space for your family session. Move around, be loud, shoot wherever you want! Just tidy up after yourself and your models and be respectful of others shooting in the space. CHECK OUT MORE ABOUT CC DAYS HERE

  • Outside operating hours (M-F 6p-on and Saturday/Sunday)

WHAT IS NON-DISRUPTIVE PHOTOGRAPHY? (see examples below) Think… you, your camera, a model or small products and utilizing the space as is. This means ensuring any items moved or used during the session are returned to their original place and you aren’t spreading out capitalizing on areas that might be used my multiple people. Overall, not interfering with the normal flow of activities of other members or drawing so much attention that it’s hard for others to focus.

WHAT IS DISRUPTIVE PHOTOGRAPHY? (see examples below) Bringing in and setting up large or cumbersome props or equipment. Turning lights on and off. Multiple outfit changes where your model has clothes strewn about or they are capitalizing the bathroom for getting ready. Moving furniture around or asking co-workers to β€œscoot out of the shot'β€œ, taking up a popular community spot (like a zoom room) longer than a Zoom call/meeting would last. Calling out instructions or directing a model loudly and often. Shooting multiple people or having multiple people in your group participating in the session. These examples might draw attention to what you’re doing in a disruptive way to someone who is working and trying to focus. You need to set up large lighting (more than what we have onsite) and props that may draw attention to your session. You may need to occupy multiple areas at once or monopolize shared spaces for extended period of times. The session could be for a team photos, family minis or audio + video recording.

ARE THERE PERKS IF I’M A MEMBERS? Well, yes! Glad you asked! There are LOTS of perks to being a Dreamer’s Loft member, but specifically for photographers, we find these are the winners.

  • 50% off rental rates

  • Our conference room with Vibe board for album reveals

  • One free day pass/month. Your single head shot client could more than pay for your membership!

  • Rotating (designer level) installs - these are often seasonal. They are here, you don’t have to set them up, you don’t have to pay for them.

BEST RULE OF THUMB?
